STORIA DI UNA MIGRAZIONE IN SENSO CONTRARIO

This book explore the migration of German lute-makers to Naples in the XVI th and XVII th centuries. The text present the way of the apprenticeship from Füssen (Bavaria) to the Italian places of the German community. The volume explore the settlement in Naples from the Aragonese era to the second half of the XVII th century and the complete story of the German National church of Santa Maria dell’Anima. The book present a fascinating insight into the sale and manufacture of the musical instruments produced by the German building and commissioned by the noble Neapolitan families. There are sixty large richly biographic voices regarding the German lute-buildings and more twenty about the Neapolitan makers active in the same period. The volume is enriched by a precious set of imagines, rare and exciting testimony of the art of making musical instruments and of the National church of Santa Maria dell’Anima. Extensive archival material has been examined in order to give a complete account of German’s lute-makers work. The complete transcription is in a CD-Rom Included.
